About the event
Workshop Description:
This workshop will focus on how to prep and execute the sometimes dastardly task of singing for animation.
From the basics of knowing your range, to how to navigate and learn songs effectively/efficiently, to handling those “impossible” notes (or slippery rhythms), to how to be musically malleable when the red light flips on.
Insight and tips from pitch to final mix, and a practical experience tackling/recording original music taking you through the whole journey from: the demo - to your ears - out your mouth (well, characters mouth) - to cutting it into the song. Let’s Sing Like Angels (and devils, or whatever character you might get booked for)!
Note: Prior singing experience or abilities are not required for this workshop.
Instructor Bio:
Matt Ouimet is an in-demand Composer, Songwriter, and Music Director. His songs and direction have reached the top crust of cartoon VO actors and his own voice can be heard in animations globally. He’s been nominated for an Emmy, a CSA and multiple Junos. He lives and works in Canada and his favourite pastime is making music and learning about our weirdo brains.
